Job Description

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the detailed design, programming, and maintenance of electrical systems and controls within our plant. Key responsibilities include designing and sizing electrical components, programming PLC/HMI systems, and preparing technical documentation. The role also involves enhancing the safety, reliability, and performance of plant equipment and providing essential support to the engineering team. The candidate will coordinate with suppliers and consultants to resolve technical issues and ensure compliance with ATEX standards. This position offers the opportunity to support our international expansion projects and work collaboratively with engineers across disciplines to drive operational excellence. The Electrical Engineer will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Documentation: Carry out detailed electrical design, including sizing and drawing preparation. Develop technical documents, including P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), I/O wiring diagrams, and technical data sheets.
  • Programming: Program and configure PLC/HMI systems to meet project specifications.
  • Component Selection and Calculations: Perform electrical calculations and select components for ATEX environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Document Review: Review electrical documents and specifications provided by suppliers and consultants for accuracy and alignment with project needs.
  • Supplier and Consultant Coordination: Work closely with suppliers, consultants, and sub-contractors to resolve technical issues both on-site and in-office settings.
  • Interdisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines within the department to ensure cohesive project execution.
  • Pre-Procurement and Evaluation: Prepare pre-procurement documents and conduct technical evaluations of quotations from vendors and suppliers.
  • Overseas Project Support: Provide engineering support for international projects, including troubleshooting and technical assistance.
  • Project Scheduling and Reporting: Assist in developing project schedules, creating work procedures and method statements, and preparing monthly progress reports.
  • Hazardous Area Knowledge: Understand hazardous area classifications and select appropriate instruments for hazardous zones (e.g., EX-d, EX-i certifications).

Requirements

  • Education: Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical design and programming.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in PLC/HMI programming, electrical calculations, and knowledge of ATEX standards.
